…back when I got my first JOB – working in a factory that made computer keyboards – one of the women pointed out one of the women to be wary of.
‘Watch out for that one,’ she warned. ‘Watch what you say to her.’
Being naive, and never working in the grown-up world before, I watched the woman as she smiled and said hello to everyone as she walked up the assembly floor.
‘She seems alright.’
‘Word of advice, everyone’s friend is no one’s friend,’ came the reply.
Now I don’t know if that’s an Irish piece of advice or where it came from, but it was true in this case.
Days later I found her trying to pump me for information about the people I’d worked with. – Thankfully I’d been prewarned and played dumb.
But it’s a good thing to keep in mind online too.
Both the people you buy from, and the ones you sell to.
The people that sign off as ‘Your Greatest Fan’ or apologize about sending too many emails are the ‘play it safe’ folks that don’t want to ruffle any feathers.
These folks will never push you.
They’ll never tell you to go off your lazy arse.
And they’ll keep on your good side for fear of losing a follower.
On your side, being everyone’s friend isn’t going to do you any favors either.
You’ll sell your products for rock bottom prices.
Work with people that don’t appreciate your value.
And fret at the thought of losing a Twitter follower or not getting a Facebook like from the group.
Now, this isn’t an open invitation for you to turn into the Terminator, but there should be some boundaries. : )
Being everyone’s friend might seem like a good thing, but it could be the thing right now that’s strangling your business.
Now, with that out of the way.
The big day is finally here!
The WriteCome membership is back open.
BUT…and here’s a but bigger than the Kardashian’s one.
There are changes to be aware of.
– Coaching is no longer part of the monthly membership.
– Some of my more expensive products are no longer available.
The Plus side.
– There’s a new membership area where I’ll take you behind the scenes and tell you some of the things I’m doing that I don’t tell anyone about.
– You’ll have access to 99% of my courses and reports as soon as you become a member.
– And you can request product ideas, which I might just create. : )
There’s a whole lot of things to mention and if you want to read it all, go here…
