…everything we do or don’t do hinges on these three things.
The What – Is what we want to do or don’t want to do.
The How – Is how we’re going to do it, or avoid doing it.
The Why – Is why we’re doing it or not doing it.
A lot of folks fall down on the third part… The Why.
A lot of people want to make money, lose weight, and have a better relationship.
A lot of people know how to do it… or can find out how to do it.
But most folks don’t do it, because they don’t have a reason for doing it.
Or to put it correctly, they do, but it’s reasons why they don’t want to do it.
– It’s going to take too much effort.
– It’s going to take too much time.
– What’s the point if I’m not going to see instant results?
– There are better things I could be doing like watching TV or going on a mindless scroll on social media right now…
– Or a hundred other reasons go through their heads.
And so it doesn’t get done.
But…
…if you work from the bottom up, things get a lot more interesting.
Someone with a why always finds a way.
Someone with a why always finds a how.
Because it’s not the vehicle you choose, but why you want to go on the trip is the most important part.
You could travel on roller skates, a bike, or a car, if you wanted to travel across the country. – OK, a car would be the best option but don’t dismiss the skates if you want it badly enough.
If you’re not making progress right now, it’s probably not your what or how, but your why.
Or if you have a why, maybe it’s too limp and flimsy and can’t compete with a boxset on Netflix, and that’s your problem.
So your mission if you wish to accept it, is to stop looking for the hows and whats and start looking for your why.
Why do you want it?
Find your unique why and you’ll be unstoppable.
And as for competition, there is no competition when you’re doing it for your own unique reasons.
Let the others compete and fight over the scraps.
The reason you’re showing up is for far more than that.
Once you find that, things start to get a lot more interesting.
